Diversity

Develops and implements outreach to under-represented psychologists and communities, whether in terms of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, region or site of practice. The Task Force's goal will be to facilitate communication and develop joint activities and to identify ways in which MPA can address unmet needs and find opportunities for advocacy and support.

If you desire to have a concern or complaint reviewed by the MPA Ethics Committee, you will be asked to prepare and mail a written statement detailing your concern or complaint. The Ethics Committee meets on a monthly basis; you will be notified after an initial review of your concern or complaint is completed. Please note that the MPA Ethics Committee has jurisdiction for conerns and complaints in relation to MPA members only. Concerns or complaints initiated by a non-member must be received within five years of the occurrence of issues to be addressed or, if initiated by an MPA member, within one year.

Licensure

Monitors state and national licensing issues potentially relevant in Michigan; educates members and others on licensing trends and issues; consults with members and provides information on licensing-related questions/topics; teaches psychology students about the Michigan licensing law; attends bi-monthly meetings of the Michigan Psychology Board.
Mission Statement: To monitor state and national issues potentially relevant to the license of psychologists in Michigan. To inform MPA members, the professional psychology community, and the public about the purpose, function and processes involved in the license laws in Michigan.

Disaster Response Network

Provides for psychological first aid in response to critical incidents; facilitates on-site critical incident stress debriefing and/or crisis counseling; offers consultation on crisis intervention, disaster and trauma.
Medical Psychology
2009 Chair: Russell Ames, Ph.D.
Provides resources and information to the members of MPA regarding combined treatments, psychopharmacology and the prescriptive movement to enable them to be better informed in practice and the profession. This mission includes an objective to schedule and coordinate educational presentations on these topics around the state.
MPAGS Student Organization
Develops recommendations for MPA action in support of students in graduate academic programs in psychology.
