The Michigan Psychological Association Foundation (MPAF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable corporation established in 2003 to receive and administer funds to advance its charitable and public outreach mission.
The MPA Foundation is a sister organization to the Michigan Psychological Association (MPA)
Mission:
The mission of the MPAF is to support educational and other charitable programs to promote the public mental health welfare and to advance the science and profession of psychology for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.
The MPAF is committed to science-based information and community-based action.
This mission is based on the underlying belief that the successful delivery of mental health services depends on understanding that individuals and families receiving treatment are members of larger communities and no patient is treated in a vacuum. While psychologists can treat individuals and families, they cannot individually address the educational needs of communities. The MPAF allows psychologists to promote the public welfare by supporting science-based public education efforts in Michigan to increase awareness of mental health issues and treatment and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.
